The Prize Timeline
PRIZE begins with early morning sidewalk sales on the corner of Green and Laguna Streets in San Francisco, just a block up from Starbucks. Inventory would sell out before noon!
The first “PRIZE” storefront opens on the San Pablo Avenue corridor in Berkeley, California. The inventory is solely vintage furniture and vintage collections. In the early days, Restoration Hardware often rented our collections of antique trophies, school maps and globes to use for props in their catalog photos.
The Berkeley store outgrows its single space and it’s time to combine two storefronts to showcase more treasures and vintage finds.
The second “PRIZE” store opens in the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco surrounded by great restaurants, bakeries and unique boutiques. Gift items and new merchandise are added to the inventory mix.
The third “PRIZE” store opens on Main Street in downtown Ashland, Oregon in the historic Enders Building constructed in 1910. With 4x more space than the tiny San Francisco storefront, more categories are added: home accessories, apothecary goods, fine jewelry, European candies and classic cashmere complement the PRIZE style.
